ISELP 2016 Annual Review

Published Thursday, January 5, 2017

On behalf of your entire ISELP Board of Directors, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and your family and happy and healthy New Year.

2017 has been an absolute year of growth and opportunity for ISELP.

Beginning in 2006, ISELP began its journey with 20 Members and a single Corporate Sponsor, Eklin (now Sound).  Our very first meeting, held in Middleburg, Virginia was a challenge but we, along with our new Members knew there was something very different and special about this new Association.

Just ten years ago, your Association, has grown from 20 Members into the fastest growing equine sports medicine association in the world.  As of the first of 2017 we have in over 1050 worldwide members, 17 Global Sponsors, and hundreds of Module Sponsors. ISELP would be merely a dream had it not been for your continued support and the support of our Global Sponsors. In addition, we have 45 ISELP Certified Members worldwide that also participate as Instructors, Student Education Program Facilitators, and Module Presenters.

I would be remiss if I did not extend our congratulations to our newest ISELP Certified Members:

            Francesca Beccati

            Emmanuel Gutton

            Christian Pedersen

            Michael Schoeberl

            Pablo Serra de Fortuny

            Katja Winderickx

Well Done!

We have expanded our 3-Day Modules to include four major markets in North America and four within Europe. We are now participating in International Congresses in both the United States and Europe for two years running and are planning to expand this into 2017.

We began recording our educational proceedings in 2006, using magnetic tape and have since progressed to supplying all our Members that attend the Modules with complimentary DVD’s.  Our Module notes are now offered to you either in hard copy or USB Flash Drives.  In the coming months, we are hoping to eliminate most of our DVD recordings and have all of our Modules placed on USB Flash Drives.  As you can imagine, this is easier said than done because of both the added expense and limited choices we have with large storage capacities on USB’s.  Stay tuned!

Our social media has expanded ten fold, since our short beginnings.  We now have Facebook, Twitter, Google+, iContact, and a new ISELP website.  Our website is expanding its ability to offer our Global Sponsors the ability to post White Papers, our members to present case studies, and our online ISELP store.

We have a wonderful Board of Directors, spearheaded by Professor Jean-Marie Denoix that lead by example.  This is definitely a “working” Board of Directors, which is scarce in the association business.

Our Global Headquarters, in The Plains, Virginia does not remain idle.  We have the hardest working group of people that help plan, organize, and control our Member inquiries, Sponsor requests, and a plethora of other added values, under the administrative management of Carmen Musick.

Also, in the coming months, we plan on adding more educational offerings, farrier days, one days, and our Student Educational Offerings.

Our Global Sponsors, will be seeing many new marketing and face time opportunities.  Our ISELP Newsletter is going to expand to include additional profiles, Association discounting, and other new benefits.

Thank you to all of you for our continued success.
