This registration is for ISELP Members for IN-PERSON attendance only.

The Viticus Center will be hosting an educational opportunity of a life time, in fantastic Las Vegas, Nevada!

The Neck and Back module uses clinical case presentations and live demonstrations and aims to improve the diagnosis and management of neck and back pain in the field. Conditions reviewed include neck problems with or without ataxia, nuchal, and thoracolumbar conditions. Special emphasis is placed on the rehabilitation program of the different conditions.

Jean-Marie Denoix, DVM, Phd, Assoc. LA-ECVDI, DACVSMR, ISELP Certified Instructor

Dr. Denoix of the CIRALE (Center of Imaging and Research on Equine Locomotor Affections) in Normandy, France is considered the world’s foremost equine musculoskeletal system anatomist as well as a leading equine diagnostic ultrasonographer. Dr. Denoix is a founder and current president of ISELP and was   also the 2006 recipient of the Schering Plough Equine Research Award from the World Equine Veterinary Association for outstanding applied research work   in Equine Diagnostic Imaging. Jean-Marie has been the invited speaker at many international meetings in more than 30 countries around the world on topics related to clinical examination and imaging of equine locomotor problems.

10:30-12:00: Dynamic examination of horses with back issues

12:00-12:30: Non-Musculoskeletal Causes of Poor Performance - Sarah M. Reuss, VMD, DACVIM

12:30 - 1:30: Lunch

1:30-3:30: Ultrasound demonstration: Diagnosis of back injuries in horses; Diagnostic Imaging of equine back lesions - A                      

3:30 - 4:00: Coffee break

4:00-6:00: Diagnostic Imaging of equine back lesions- B; Treatment & of equine thoracolumbar problems     

6:00-8:00: ISELP Sponsor Appreciation Cocktail Party  

 

Friday 16 th February 2024:

The equine neck and nuchal area- Lectures by Prof. J.M. Denoix

08:00-10:00: Functional anatomy of the equine neck; Clinical examination of the equine neck                                              

10:00 - 10:30: Coffee break

10:30-12:30: Ultrasound demonstration: Diagnosis of neck and ribs injuries in horses; Ultrasound demonstration: Diagnosis of nuchal & TMJ injuries in horses      

12:30 - 1:30: Lunch

1:30-3:30: Diagnostic imaging of neck problems; Treatment & management of equine neck problems             

3:30-4:00: Coffee break

4:00-6:00: The equine cervicothoracobrachial syndrome

 

Saturday 17 th February 2024:

The Wet Lab Day will run from 8:00am - 3:00pm
