ISELP Member, Dr. Mark Cassells, DVM, will be hosting a Hands On One Day Seminar at Homestead Veterinary Hospital, in Villa Ridge, MO.

 

This event will offer a lot of hands on instruction on imaging The Stifle. Each wet lab station will have no more then 5 attendees at each station.

 

 

Your Instructors Include:

 

Duncan Peters, DVM, MS, ISELP Certified Member (Board Member)

Dr. Duncan Peters received his DVM in 1982 from the University of California-Davis and has been practicing sport horse medicine for over 30 years.  He became a certified member of ISELP in 2008 and sits on the Board of Directors.  He is an active AAEP member and past board of director.  He earned diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACVSMR) in 2013.  He was an associate professor in clinical equine lameness and sports medicine at Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, from 2012 to 2015.  Dr. Peters is currently co-owner of East-West Equine Sports Medicine, LLC, Lexington, Kentucky, a private practice focused on diagnosis and treatment of equine lameness, poor performance and overall management of the sport horse for optimum performance.  He has consulted and authored many articles in lay publications and is a contributing author for Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery, Hinchcliff et al. and Current Therapy in Equine Medicine,  Robinson and Sprayberry.  Dr. Peters is an active member in a variety of sport horse associations and a member of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Veterinary and Drugs and Medication Committees. He is a USEF evaluation veterinarian for the eventing, dressage and endurance discipline international teams and a multi-disciplined Federation Equestrian Internationale (FEI) veterinarian.  He has been one of the USA team veterinarians for the para-equestrian and vaulting disciplines since 2014.  He was a member of the Veterinary Commission during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games and the 2015 Pan American Games.  Dr Peters is a member of the North American Veterinary Regenerative Medicine Association.

 

Kurt Selberg,  MS, DVM, MS, DACVR, Certified in Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP)

Kurt Selberg is a North Idaho native; where his family owned a quarter horse ranch.  He received his bachelors degree in animal science from the University of Idaho.  He then went on to obtain a master of science in nutritional physiology from the University of Florida.  After completing his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Washington State University, he completed an equine sports medicine internship at Virginia Equine Imaging in Middleburg, VA. Dr. Selberg completed a three year radiology residency at Colorado State University.  Following his residency he completed fellowship in advanced imaging with training from Colorado State University and from Musculoskeletal Radiologists at The Imaging Center in Fort Collins, CO. Dr. Selberg gained status as a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiologists in 2013. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Georgia. His area of interest is the equine athlete and small and large animal musculoskeletal radiology. 

 

 

Dr. Mark Cassells, DVM

 

Dr. Mark Cassells, DVM is a 1999 graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Missouri. Dr. Cassells professional interests include sport horse practice, and lameness diagnosis and treatment. He competed in dressage and eventing before veterinary school and now rides jumpers for fun. His wife, Katy, rides jumpers competitively. Dr. Cassells and Katy own several horses, many rescued dogs, and one goat. Dr. Cassells is the Animal Health Foundation President.
