Hands On One Day Talk & Wet Lab – The Back and Pelvis

 

ISELP hands on seminars are one day (8:00 am – 5:00pm) intensive ultrasound wet labs taught by ISELP certified veterinarians. The courses are customized for those who want to learn in a small group atmosphere ensuring all participants plenty   of “hands on” opportunities.

Registration is limited to 20 attendees. Kurt Selberg, MS, DVM, DACVR and Cooper Williams, VMD  will present a talk in the morning followed by the wet lab in the afternoon.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided.  Three horses and six ultrasound machines will be available for your use during the wet lab.

More about Dr. Selberg

Kurt Selberg is a North Idaho native; where his family owned a quarter horse ranch.  He received his bachelors degree in animal science from the University of Idaho.  He then went on to obtain a master of science in nutritional physiology from the University of Florida.  After completing his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Washington State University, he completed an equine sports medicine internship at Virginia Equine Imaging in Middleburg, VA. Dr. Selberg completed a three year radiology residency at Colorado State University.  Following his residency he completed fellowship in advanced imaging with training from Colorado State University and from Musculoskeletal Radiologists at The Imaging Center in Fort Collins, CO. He was an Assistant Professor of Equine Diagnostic imaging at the University of Georgia for 4 years.  He has recently taken a position at Colorado State University in Equine Diagnostic Imaging.  His area of interest is the equine athlete and equine musculoskeletal diagnostic imaging.  He is a certified member and lecturer at many of the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology continuing education events. Dr. Selberg is currently serving as a section facilitator for the AAEP education programs committee in lameness and imaging.   Aside from radiology, he also enjoys skiing , fishing, spending time with good friends and family, his lovely wife Katie, yellow dogs, and the newest addition to the family our little girl Beckett. 

 

More about Dr. Williams

Dr. Cooper Williams graduated in 1985 with honors from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an internship (85’-87’) at Delaware Equine Center where he developed their ultrasound imaging program. Dr. Williams is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Cooper  is also one of a very limited number of equine veterinarians worldwide, certified by ISELP (International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology).  He now travels worldwide instructing other equine veterinarians in advanced imaging techniques and lameness diagnostics. Dr. Williams practice is near 100% equine sports medicine with representation among Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, Combined Training, Steeplechase, Foxhunt, and Polo disciplines. He is also a consulting veterinarian on large animal stock for the Maryland Zoo. Cooper  is an active member of the North American Regenerative Medicine Association as well as a member of the veterinary advisory board for Acell, Inc., a tissue engineering company. He and his wife Trish reside on their farm in Hampstead, MD.
